Reduce Inflammation in the Stomach and Gastrointestinal Tract

The gastrointestinal system (GI) is a combination of organs and biological processes that allow us to consume food, absorb nutrients, and ingest medications1. It includes the esophagus, stomach, intestines, and the various bacteria and organisms that live inside these organs1. Disrupting any one of these parts of the GI system can lead to poor overall health1,2

The stomach and gastrointestinal tract are crucial to our long term health, but can easily become inflamed, causing discomfort, pain and even cancer as we age1-3. As the parts of our body responsible for providing us the nutrients we need to live, the health of our stomach and gastrointestinal tract should always be a top priority.

How do the Stomach and GI Become Inflamed?

GI health can be affected by factors like age, diet, and lifestyle1-3. If left untreated, poor GI health can lead to inflammation which causes discomfort, pain, mental health issues, and a higher risk of getting cancer2,3.

Unfortunately, GI inflammation can be difficult to treat1. Luckily, Light Lounge provides products that can help reduce GI inflammation and improve overall health.

Reduce GI Inflammation with Light Lounge Products

Both Light Therapy and H2 Water provide health benefits by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation, alleviating pain and restoring our cells. Scientific evidence suggests that the anti-inflammatory properties of both Light Therapy and Hydrogen Water could have a positive effect on the GI1-7.

Scientists have found that applying near-infrared Light Therapy to mice’s stomachs helped promote a healthy microbiome, the collection of organisms that live in our gut and help us digest food and absorb nutrients1,5. Mice that received Light Therapy three times a week on their stomach had an increase in both the number and type of healthy bacteria in their microbiome, reducing GI inflammation1. Though more human studies are needed, Light Therapy shows promise in restoring balance to the microbiome in those who are aging or suffer from GI health issues1,5.

In addition to Light Therapy, Hydrogen Water has been shown to help prevent and heal injuries to the GI system in rats7. Hydrogen Water decreases inflammation by reducing oxidative stress in the body and preventing harmful free radicals from disrupting the mitochondria, where our cells produce energy7. The stomach is the first place that Hydrogen Water goes when we drink it, and can directly target GI inflammation7. More research is needed on Hydrogen water’s effect on stomach health, but animal studies indicate that Hydrogen could be a key way to reduce stomach inflammation from aging or from other health issues.

Light Lounge Products Reduce Inflammation for Better Health

Light Lounge offers both Light Therapy treatment and devices to infuse water with Hydrogen. These technologies go beyond increasing GI health — reducing inflammation can help treat chronic pain, improve mood, and restore our bodies from injury.
